2025
On Saturday, October 25, 2025 (7:00 AM – 12:00 AM), Alfaisal University
hosted IEEE Xtreme 19.0, serving as the local hub for the globally
recognized 24-hour programming competition. The event gathered
passionate students for an intense, innovation-driven coding experience
that challenged teams to solve complex problems under time pressure.
Participants competed in a dynamic environment supported by volunteers,
technical supervisors, and media coverage throughout the day. The event
featured structured competition rooms, refreshment stations, scheduled
meal breaks, mini recharge activities, and designated resting areas to
ensure both productivity and well-being.
IEEE Xtreme 19.0 blended challenge, collaboration, and community spirit,
proudly representing Alfaisal University in one of the world’s largest
international programming contests.
Outcome: Strengthened technical excellence, teamwork, and competitive
programming culture within the university SDG 3, SDG 9, SDG 16

On Saturday, October 26, 2024, Alfaisal University hosted IEEE Xtreme
18.0, the local edition of the global IEEEXtreme programming
competition. The event brought together motivated and skilled students
to participate in an intense coding challenge aimed at solving complex
programming problems under strict time constraints.
Teams competed in a structured and collaborative environment that
encouraged innovation, critical thinking, and technical excellence. The
hackathon provided participants with valuable competitive experience
while strengthening teamwork and problem-solving abilities.
Outcome: Successful local representation in one of the world’s largest
global programming competitions, enhancing student engagement in
competitive coding.
